Aashu Sharma Bags Bronze in Track Asia Cup Cycling Meet

Indian cyclist Aashu Sharma bagged the Individual Pursuit (2 km) bronze in the junior women's category on the second day of the Track Asia Cup at the Indira Gandhi Stadium Complex Velodrome here on Thursday.
Aashu clocked a time of two minutes and 47.652 seconds while Foorozan Abdohlahi (1:23.347) of Iran and Uzbekistan's Nafosat Kozieva (1:35.744) took the gold and silver respectively.
In the elite women's category, T. Devi Bidiyaluxmi of SAI National Cycling Academy took silver in the Individual Pursuit (3 km) event while Western India's Rutuja Satpute bagged the bronze. Supuksom Nuntana of Thailand won the gold.
India are now at the fourth spot in the medals tally with one gold, three silver and two bronze. South Korea is at the top of the standings with three gold and one silver.
Uzbekistan is second with two gold and three silver medals while Thailand (two gold, one silver and three bronze) occupy the third position.
India is in line to claim more medals on the final day of the tournament on Friday as local favourite Deborah will fight it out for the gold against Sunoyoung of South Korea in the final of the sprint event in the elite women's category.
In the junior men's sprint event, India's Emerson and Arkaprava Baul compete with each other in the play-off for the bronze medal.
In the junior women's sprint event, India's Nayana Rajesh will face Fatemeh Hadavand of Iran in the final while India's Anu Chutia will compete for bronze with Iran's Parastoo Bastidejkarghani.
