The West Indies Cricket Board has announced a full strength 14-member squad for the VB Series against Australia and Pakistan next month. The team will be led by Brian Lara. The selection finally put to rest weeks of controversy and confusion that had gripped West Indies cricket of sponsorship matters pertaining to the players and the cricket board. The series will be the first assignment for new coach Bennet King, who took over from Gus Logie after the Champions Trophy. The Board, however, did add that certain issues were still left to be resolved but differences had been put aside for just the VB Series in order to send the best team possible down under.
