... The Run Chase ...

!
Right then! The pitch got better in the end to bat and the slower balls are working well to make an impact for the bowlers. Still, this is a very tight contest and the team who plays the best will win the series. The T20I went the visitors' way, will it be the same for them? We will find out soon. Stay tuned for the chase.

Kyle Mayers is here for a quick word. He says that he feels lucky and he thinks he batted well. Adds that after losing early wickets in the last game they were more careful in this one and they started slowly in the first powerplay as the plan was to tackle Boult and Southee and they did good in the end. Says that he feels very happy after his century and he's glad the crowd enjoyed it. Finishes by saying that they need to do well with the ball and defend the score.

A bit frustrating outing from the Kiwi bowlers! They didn't break the stand early on and allowed the opposition to get away. Once they got their wickets, they then got the hammering from Nicholas Pooran. They took wickets at the other end but Pooran alone made a huge lot of difference to the score. The slower balls helped them mainly to keep under control but now have to chase a huge score.

What an innings it was from Pooran! An innings that helped West Indies end on a high. The start though was very slow from the hosts. They started slowly but Mayers took the charge soon later. Hope played second fiddle to him. The duo notched a 173 opening stand with Hope scoring a fifty and Mayers scoring a wonderful ton. They fell in quick succession but it was then Pooran's inning that helped them get past 290. Pooran was at his best after quite a few innings and this could potentially be a game-changing knock. Not to forget that little cameo from Alzarri Joseph that helped them get past 300.

An excellent batting performance from West Indies! A performance that was dearly needed by them and most importantly bat the full quota.
