Next time Ajinkya Rahane walks out to bat, he will be accompanied by Lady Luck. The stylish India middle-order batsman tied the knot with Radhika Dhopvka in a Maharashtrian style wedding on Friday. The Rahanes and Dhopvkas stay in Mulund, Mumbai and the wedding was arranged by both families.

Rahane, 26, has so far played 10 Test matches and 34 ODIs for India and looks set for a long and successful career. On the tour of England, when the likes of Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Murali Vijay struggled against the pace and swing of James Anderson and Stuart Broad, Ajinkya Rahane held his own, with a match-winning 103 on a green top at Lord's, before slamming two half-centuries in the Southampton Test.

Ajinkya Rahane was also in top form in the ODI series against England. He slammed 41 in Cardiff, scored 45 in Nottingham and then raised his maiden ODI ton, a fluent 106 in Birmingham.

Like most successful cricketers, Rahane has tied the knot early. The rest of India will now hope it serves as a good omen and keep his penchant for big scores going once the West Indies come visiting in October.
