Kanpur:

In an apparent bid to meet the extra expenses on stadium-rent, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association has hiked prices of high-end tickets for the third ODI between India and England, scheduled at Green Park stadium here on November 20.

UPCA took the decision after the state government increased the rent of the Green Park Stadium from Rs 9 lakh to Rs one crore.

The organisers said the price of general tickets will, however, remain the same.

"The price of pavilion ticket has been increased from Rs 2500 to Rs 3000, while price of the balcony ticket has been set at Rs 2500 -- an increase of Rs 500. Besides, there will be no separate stand for ladies this time and they will be charged Rs 100 instead of Rs 50 earlier," P D Pathak, Secretary (Sports Administration) of UPCA, told PTI.

"However, price of the tickets for student gallery will remain Rs 50," Pathak added.

The tickets for the match will be available in the nine branches of State Bank of India on November 18 and 19. Students have to show their identity card to avail the concession.
