c KL Rahul b Mohammed Siraj
0.1 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! A first-ball duck for Pathum Nissanka and India are off to a perfect start. Beautiful delivery from Mohammed Siraj though as he steams in from over the wicket and pitches the ball up around off, slanting it in and then getting it to nip away off the deck. Nissanka with a tentative attempt at the block and the outside edge is found. KL Rahul dives to his right behind the stumps and takes a good low catch. Siraj with his tail up here! 0/1

Avishka Fernando | 40 | 62 | 5 | 0 | 64.51 |
c & b Washington Sundar
17 OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! A soft dismissal and Avishka Fernando departs right on the brink of the drinks break! Washington Sundar holds onto the full length, and pitching it slightly on between the middle and leg stump line. Avishka Fernando weighs forward to steer it away to the leg side, and tries to play it with the spin but the ball straightens after pitching. He turns his bat early and the ball takes off in the air just above the ground from a thick outside edge. Washington Sundar does the rest by taking a simple catch and breaks the 74-run partnership between these two. Sri Lanka lose their second wicket. 74/2

Kusal Mendis Wk | 30 | 42 | 3 | 0 | 71.42 |
lbw b Washington Sundar
18.1 OUT! LBW! Two quick wickets for India in the span of just 8 deliveries! Kusal Mendis chats with his partner for a brief moment and aborts to go upstairs. Sundar fires it quick and flat from around the wicket on the fullish length, in front of the line of the stumps. Kusal Mendis attempts to play that conventional sweep shot but is a bit hurried into the shot and plays over the line of the ball. Gets rapped in front of the pads. It more of looked like plumb in front. Washington Sundar has sent two of the well-settled batters now and Sri Lanka will have to rebuild again. 79/3
|
|||||
Sadeera Samarawickrama | 14 | 31 | 1 | 0 | 45.16 |
c Virat Kohli b Axar Patel
26.4 OUT! CAUGHT! The bowling change has worked as Axar Patel makes an immediate impact in his new spell. Axar tosses the ball up on a slightly dragged length, looking to turn it away from the off stump. Sadeera Samarawickrama loses his patience as he skips down the pitch and looks for a big hoick against the line. The ball gets spliced up high towards the cover region where Virat Kohli settles under it and takes a safe catch. Sadeera Samarawickrama was really itching to get off the blocks and tried to go against the pace of play but fell prey in the end. 111/4
|
|||||
Charith Asalanka C | 25 | 42 | 3 | 0 | 59.52 |
c Axar Patel b Washington Sundar
34.5 OUT! TAKEN! Another soft dismissal and once again, the Sri Lankan middle order is collapsing. Two wickets in the span of just 8 deliveries. Sundar lands it on a length, on off and gets a good purchase off the deck. The ball turns degrees away from the batter and also gets an excessive bounce. Charith Asalanka is taken by surprise from the turn and bounce. He goes through the shot and ends up offering a dolly to Axar Patel at short third. 136/6
|
|||||
Janith Liyanage | 12 | 29 | 0 | 0 | 41.37 |
c & b Kuldeep Yadav
33.4 OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Kuldeep Yadav gets a wicket now. Half of the Sri Lankan side into the sheds now. Kuldeep hustles and rolls in a tossed-up delivery with a few revolutions through the air. He pitches it outside the off stump. Liyanage gets enticed to get closer to it. Leans forward to drive across the line and chips it back to Kuldeep who takes a good overhead catch. 136/5
|
|||||
Dunith Wellalage | 39 | 35 | 1 | 2 | 111.42 |
c Shivam Dube b Kuldeep Yadav
46.1 OUT! TAKEN! This time Dube hangs onto it and Dunith Wellalage perishes! Kuldeep Yadav drops it right in front of the pegs, bowls it on a flatter trajectory on a fullish length. Dunith Wellalage tries the switch hit and gets low on his knee. He attempts to get it over the inner ring but fails to get the required timing on that one. The ball goes off the top edge and flies towards short fine where Shivam Dube runs to his left, spreads his arms forward and takes an excellent running catch. Important wicket for India as the man in-form Dunith Wellalage departs. 208/7

Kamindu Mendis | 40 | 44 | 4 | 0 | 90.90 |
run out (Shreyas Iyer)
49.5 OUT! RUN OUT! BULL'S EYE! Arshdeep bangs it short and on the off and middle, Kamindu Mendis pulls it towards deep mid-wicket. Shreyas Iyer runs in quickly, picks the ball up and rocket-arms towards the striker's end as the batters attempt to cross for two. One peg to aim at and Iyer scores a direct hit from the deep. Kamindu Mendis is well outside the crease. OUT. 239/8

run out (Rohit Sharma / Virat Kohli)
50 OUT! RUN OUT! Virat Kohli, the live wire in the field does the job! Length-delivery on the leg stump line. Jeffrey Vandersay drills it to mid off. The fielder Rohit Sharma misses the direct hit at the non-striker's end. The ball rolls to the leg side and Kohli at mid-wicket backs up the throw and runs at the striker's end seizing the opportunity as the batter is well away from the crease trying to complete the single. He scores a brilliant run out. Rohit Sharma is all smiles. Sri Lanka finish at 240 on the board, 10 runs more from the previous game. 240/9

c Pathum Nissanka b Jeffrey Vandersay
13.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Rohit Sharma did seem in a bit of a hurry and didn't hold on for much longer but a fine knock nonetheless from the Indian skipper. Jeffrey Vandersay provides the much-needed breakthrough for Sri Lanka and that is a top catch from Pathum Nissanka as well. This is bowled full and straight, Rohit goes for the big reverse sweep, almost a slog and ends up losing his balance. The ball gets lobbed off the top edge wide of backward point but Nissanka covers great ground and dives to his right to grab it. 97/1
|
|||||
Shubman Gill | 35 | 44 | 3 | 0 | 79.54 |
c Kamindu Mendis b Jeffrey Vandersay
17.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Wow, what a grab at first slip from Kamindu Mendis and he has pulled a rabbit out of the hat here. Jeffrey Vandersay tosses the ball up wide of the off stump, a bit full and gets it to turn away, Shubman Gill reaches out for an expansive drive but gets a thick outside edge that flies wide of first slip but Mendis shows great athleticism and leaps across, taking it with one hand and almost behind him as well. Jeffrey Vandersay filling in the shoes of Hasaranga brilliantly here. 116/2
|
|||||
Virat Kohli | 14 | 19 | 2 | 0 | 73.68 |
lbw b Jeffrey Vandersay
19.4 OUT! LBW! Jeffrey Vandersay is picking the bones out of this Indian batting order and this time, Virat Kohli surely has to walk back. Looked like another wrong'un from Vandersay and he bowls this one a bit slower and fuller on the stumps, sliding it back into the right-hander. Virat Kohli gets a big stride in and looks to defend but is beaten and gets hit right in front of middle stump. There is a huge appeal and the finger goes up. Kohli has a word with Axar and starts walking. 123/4
|
|||||
Shivam Dube | 4 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
lbw b Jeffrey Vandersay
17.5 OUT! LBW! Jeffrey Vandersay is on a roll here and the star performer from the previous game, Shivam Dube walks back for a duck. Vandersay pushes this one quicker through the air and on a nagging length on off and middle, this is the regular leg-break that turns back in sharply and again, Dube gets caught on the back foot and misses the ball completely. The ball thuds into the pads and the finger goes up right away. No need to review that one and Sri Lanka are right back in it. 116/3
|
|||||
Axar Patel | 44 | 44 | 4 | 2 | 100 |
c & b Charith Asalanka
33.1 OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Another excellent catch from the Lankans and the skipper has picked up a huge wicket here. Charith Asalanka keeps coming from around the stumps and angles it in on a length and into middle and leg. Axar Patel goes onto the back foot to flick but the ball holds in the wicket and Axar ends up chipping it back towards the non-striker. Washington Sundar tries to get out of the way and just like that Asalanka is diving across low to his left and manages to take it with both hands. Axar departs after a fine knock. 185/7
|
|||||
Shreyas Iyer | 7 | 9 | 1 | 0 | 77.77 |
lbw b Jeffrey Vandersay
21.5 OUT! LBW! A big appeal for LBW but 'No' says the umpire. Jeffrey Vandersay is very excited and they do go upstairs. Jeffrey Vandersay dishes out the conventional leg spinner on the fuller length. It straightens up instead of turning away. Shreyas Iyer is drawn forward as he anticipates the ball to turn and plays over the line of the ball and wears it on the pads. UltraEdge shows no bat involved and the Ball Tracker comes up with three reds. The on-field decision is overturned and Shreyas Iyer will have to depart here. Jeffrey Vandersay has snagged the first 5-fer of his ODI career. Remember, he is filling in the big shoes of Hasaranga. What a spectacular fightback this has been from Sri Lanka! India are still 108 runs away but they have now lost half of the side. 133/5

KL Rahul Wk | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
b Jeffrey Vandersay
23.1 OUT! CHOPPED ON! Massive, massive moment in the game! A nothing shot from KL Rahul and he perishes as well. The crowd at Colombo has gone bonkers with that scalp. Jeffrey Vandersay bowls it flat and quick, keeps the length fuller and around off, KL Rahul doesn't quite get his front foot out and tries to play the drive away from his body. Hence, he loses his shape and swings the bat weirdly. Inside edges, and the ball rattles the furniture in a jiffy. Sri Lanka is in total control of the game. Jeffrey Vandersay gets his 6th wicket. 147/6

|||||
Washington Sundar | 15 | 40 | 0 | 0 | 37.50 |
lbw b Charith Asalanka
35.3 OUT! LBW! Not sure what the initial appeal from the Lankans was for but Washington Sundar is out LBW and Sri Lanka rejoice. Charith Asalanka angles the ball in on a slightly fuller length and drops it on off stump, Sundar looks to push it off the front foot but is beaten past the inside edge and the ball just flicks the back leg before going into the mitts of the keeper. There is an appeal and eventually, the finger does go up. Sundar refers it and there's no spike on UltraEdge but Ball Tracking comes up with three reds. The Lankan skipper is at it again! 190/8

40.2 OUT! LBW! TRAPPED IN FRONT AND SRI LANKA ARE ALL PUMPED UP AGAIN! Mohammed Siraj is down on his knees, disappointed but eventually goes for a review. Charith Asalanka darts in a fuller-length delivery, and flattens the trajectory. The ball considerably stays low and turns back sharply into the batter from outside off. Mohammed Siraj expecting the ball to bounce goes on the back foot to punch it to the leg side but gets deceived by the lack of bounce and plays it all over the line of the ball, and wears it low on his front pad. UltraEdge shows no bat involved and Ball Tracking confirms three reds. Sri Lanka just a solitary wicket from a tremendous win. 201/9

run out (Kamindu Mendis / Kusal Mendis)
42.2 OUT! RUN OUT! That's it, Sri Lanka have won and they can't lose the series anymore. A bit of a pre-mature end and India will be gutted to lose the final wicket to a run out. Charith Asalanka bowls it quick and flat around off stump, cutting back in. Kuldeep Yadav stays on the back foot looking to cut but it is close to the body. The ball gets chopped back past the stumps and the keeper. Arshdeep Singh calls for the single but Kamindu Mendis at first slip is quick to get to the ball. He fires in a throw at the keeper's end and Kusal Mendis dislodges the bails. Sri Lanka WIN BY 32 RUNS! 208/10
