Johannesburg:
The blow to Team India comes after he suffered a groin injury during the semi final and needed a runner.
Sources from the BCCI have told NDTV that Sehwag is more than likely to miss this match.
It's a big blow for the Indians who have depended on Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir to give them strong and aggressive starts that are so crucial in this shortest version of the game.
India beat world champion Australia in the semi final while Pakistan defeated New Zealand to set a dream world cup final.
Being in a World Cup final is no doubt a tremendous achievement, but when the opponent is your biggest rival, there is always going to be talk about pressure.
"See it is going to be a tough match, there will be pressure on both teams even before a ball has been bowled. If you put more pressure on the team by saying it is an India-Pakistan match, a world cup final, it's a neutral venue. It would be better if we just play this as another match for both teams," said M S Dhoni, Captain, Indian Twenty20 Team.
Both teams have put behind them their early exits at the World Cup in March this year. India will be hoping that their batsman continue to fire, while Pakistan's trump card could once again be their bowlers.
