Ranji Trophy set for an overhaul?
The technical committee of the BCCI, headed by former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, is meeting in Mumbai today. The committee will look into the findings of the conclave attended by all domestic captains and coaches few months back.

The technical committee of the BCCI, headed by former India skipper Sourav Ganguly, is meeting in Mumbai today. The committee will look into the findings of the conclave attended by all domestic captains and coaches few months back.
NDTV has learnt that a new format has been proposed for the Ranji Trophy. Here are some of the changes that have been proposed.
# Instead of two, there will be three Elite groups.
# Each group will have five teams each
# Teams to play 1 home & 1 away match against every other team in their group.
# Top two teams from Plate will move to Elite
# Bottom two teams will be relegated to Plate Group
# Monetary incentives will also be provided at league stage. An incentive of Rs 15 crore has been proposed for Elite group teams while Rs 5 crore has been proposed for Plate Group teams.
