Hyderabad:

Australian skipper Ricky Ponting on Tuesday said he is game for yet another captain's agreement to take the fielder's word on contentious catches during the Test series against India and will take up the matter with rival captain Anil Kumble.

"I would love to talk with Anil regarding this issue at the match referee's meeting," Ponting said.

During their tour Down Under earlier this year, India had a pre-series pact with Australia on close catches under which both the teams agreed to go by the fielder's word in such situations.

However, during the infamous Sydney Test furore, Indians were left fuming at Australian vice-captain Michael Clarke's claim for what appeared to be a dropped catch of Sourav Ganguly.

A furious Kumble later declared that it was a "mistake" to enter into such a pact with Australia, a comment that didn't go down too well with Ponting.

However, with the Sydney furore becoming a thing of past for both the teams, Ponting said a fresh pact could be made.

"It was during the Sydney Test that things went little out of control but both teams need to realise that they have to play in the right spirit of the game," he said.

When asked about Adam Gilchrist being named the Deccan Chargers captain in the Indian Premier League, Ponting said, "This is great to have Adam Gilchrist as captain of Deccan Chargers. He will make a good captain. He was a very good vice captain. He was part of a winning team and has got real winning culture."

"I am sure both Deccan Chargers and Gilchrist were not happy with the outcome in the first year," he added.

He himself wants to play an entire season for his IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders if the international calendar gives him the time.

"I would love to play full season for the Kolkata Knight Riders. I liked whatever I saw of IPL," he said.
