New Delhi:

One may say that the Pakistanis are yet to clear the IPL cobwebs but that isn't an excuse the Pakistan Cricket Board is willing to buy. Pakistan's 140-run loss to India on Tuesday led the board chairman to send an angry mail to the team manager Talat Ali.

A 140-run loss against India also put an embarrassing end to Pakistan's 12-match winning streak. This prompted Nasim Ashraf, the PCB chairman to express his displeasure. The content of his mail was widely reported by the local media.

"It is not a question of losing a match but our overall performance and the lack of resolve and commitment bothered me. We were smiling and joking as if we were some junior team, which was happy just to be given the privilege of playing against a top team. This has to stop," Ashraf wrote.

Ashraf singled out wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, describing his performance as "pathetic", particularly an incident when he dropped a catch but still claimed it.

"This is unsporting behaviour but perhaps one has to give him the benefit of the doubt. But I do not want such behaviour from our players please warn everyone. We ought to be looking at playing another wicketkeeper," Asraf added.
