The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board says Geoff Lawson will not be kept as national team coach after his contract expires.

PCB chairman Ijaz Butt said Monday the Australian will not be retained once his contract expires in April 2009.

Former chairman Nasim Ashraf appointed Lawson as coach and gave him a two-year contract last year. Pakistan have lost two important test series, against South Africa at home and against India in India, under Lawson's stewardship.
