He tries to adjust and get back to going to the striker's end but the throw from Hasan comes to Mohammed at the keeper's end. Keshav Maharaj's persistence finally gets its reward.  Maharaj bowls this one a little short around off. He gets a little zip and bounce off the surface. There is an appeal and the umpire raises his finger to give the marching orders to Azam. Hang on... Azam has signalled 'T' after consulting his partner. Replays roll in and it is a fair delivery reckons the third umpire as the front on spin vision comes on. Looks to be plumb but lets see if he has got any bat there. Not that it is a big wicket but because their bowling performance, in response to what has been a fairly low total, has been superb. There are two mid-wickets in place and this one goes straight to Bavuma at short mid-wicket. A standing ovation as Alam walks back and a well deserved one. However, a slight opening for the visitors. Excellent catch from Faf du Plessis at first slip. Ngidi bowls in the channel of uncertainty around off. Rizwan has a poke at it. The ball comes in with the angle and takes the fat outside edge of Rizwan's bat. It goes to the left of first slip. Pakistan are doing really well now to close the day with a couple of wickets. Floated around off, maybe stops on the surface a touch, Markram looks to block this one out but the ball takes the top part of the blade and lobs towards the silly point fielder and Abid Ali again takes a good catch. It seems to be falling beside the batsman, on the off side, but Mohammad Rizwan, watches the ball, and dives forward to take a stunning catch. He takes the third wicket and Pakistan are doing well to end the day on a high note. Yasir bowls a flatter delivery on middle, it skids on and stays low as well, du Plessis goes on his back foot and looks to flick but misses. He gets hit plumb in front on the pads and the players appeal. The umpire does not take a lot of time to raise his finger. Du Plessis opts not to take the review as he knows that this one was plumb.  185/3

Tossed up, around middle, de Kock lunges to defend but the ball spins in. The inside edge is taken and it deflects onto the pad. Here is where Abid Ali's focus comes into play. He is watching the ball like a hawk, so follows the movement very closely. He is aware that the ball will go in a different position due to the deflection of the pad, but does not panic. 100.3 OUT! LBW! Nauman Ali becomes the 12th Pakistan player to take 5 wickets on debut! Full and around off, Temba gets down to paddle but misses and is hit on the pads. Pakistan appeal, the umpire takes his time and then raises his finger. Bavuma is on his haunches and almost with signs of despair, takes the review. Looks dead to the naked eye. And sure enough, when technology is used, Ball Tracker shows it to be crashing into middle stump. Tough luck for Bavuma. He played that shot well all morning, but missed it on this one occasion. He accepts the invitation and goes for the drive but the ball turns in sharply after pitching and goes through the defenses of Rabada.
