Onto the next one - Three down, one more to go in this stacked weekend of the 2026 IPL season. We now have seen 7 teams get at least a win on the board, with just 3 teams remaining without a win. One of those three teams features in the final clash of this weekend as Chennai Super Kings head to Bengaluru to face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Southern Derby. CSK have opted to BOWL first in that game, and you can switch tabs to tune in to our coverage of that game. Cheers!
PLAYER OF THE MATCH - Mohammad Shami wins the award for his superb spell (4-0-9-2). He says that he is happy with his performance, and he just tries to do well. Adds that they lost the first game, and it was important to win this one. Mentions that if you love cricket, you have to work hard to play at a good level. Shami shares that to execute your skills, it is important to stay fit, and he managed to do that by playing a lot of domestic games this season to keep his rhythm and flow. Ends by saying that he played here last season, and knew that slower ones would be key on this surface.
The victorious skipper of Lucknow Super Giants - Rishabh Pant says that it's a big plus when you stay till the end and win the game for your side. Adds that you need to appreciate the bowlers a bit more and credits the individuals who did a fine job in the first innings. Pant mentions that you can be a bit critical in terms that they haven't played a perfect game yet, but just need to keep tweaking and improving with every match. On his own knock, Pant says that all's well that ends well and doesn't want to talk about how hard he has been working in the nets and wants his bat to do all the talking.
Presentation Time...
A quick chat - Aiden Markram is up for a flash interview. He says that he was happy to be back at the top. Adds that he is happy to bat anywhere but has a good relationship with Mitchell Marsh, and they go along well. Mentions that he thought when he was out there, it was the best time to bat on this wicket. Markram shares that it got a lot slower later on, but he and Marsh just went about their business and expressed themselves. Ends by saying that if he is not bowling, that means his team is doing well.
The captain of Sunrisers Hyderabad - Ishan Kishan says that it was a really good game of cricket. Adds that the total was not great but he is pleased with his bowlers for taking it to the last over. Mentions that losing four wickets in the Powerplay ultimately made the difference, but also praises the way Heinrich Klaasen and Nitish Kumar Reddy batted to get them to a fighting score. Kishan also credits Rishabh Pant for taking his side home, but overall, he is happy with his team's effort. Says that a couple of boundaries here or there cost them, but it was good to see Harsh Dubey and Harshal Patel bowling so well.
So close, and yet so far for SRH - Sunrisers Hyderabad made a comeback twice in the contest but it simply wasn't enough as those first 10 overs with the bat made all the difference. Defending a fairly low total in terms of modern T20 cricket, SRH did get an early breakthrough but that 2nd-wicket partnership between Markram and Pant took the game away from them. However, wickets in the middle phase are so crucial and SRH started to slowly make their way back in the game. Harsh Dubey was one of the standouts with the ball, along with the likes of Eshan Malinga and Shivang Kumar as well. Harshal Patel bowled a fine penultimate over to give SRH a big chance but Jaydev Unadkat was unable to deliver, and SRH slumped to their second defeat in three matches. Earlier in the game, the Sunrisers had a woeful start with the bat and their highly-rated and highly-destructive top three flopped hard. Heinrich Klaasen yet again stood tall in that middle order as Nitish Kumar Reddy used his confidence from the last game to play another fine knock as well. The duo added 116-run as SRH fought back and got over 150 runs after being 35/4 at the end of 10 overs.
Nervy win, but a win after all - It was a shoddy batting performance in their opening game against the Capitals and once again, they nearly undid all the good work that was done in the first innings by the bowling and fielding. LSG will be thanking their stars as their skipper, Rishabh Pant, really dragged them over the line as wickets kept falling all around him. It was a very solid start with the bat as Aiden Markram hit the ball sweetly but once he fell, no one really took the time to get in and stick around with Pant. Abdul Samad hit a couple of boundaries but even he gave it away at the death and that nearly cost LSG big time as they didn't have much batting left in the tank. In terms of the first innings for LSG, they started perfectly with the ball as Mohammad Shami dismissed Abhishek Sharma in the very first over. He then got rid of Travis Head as well and the others pounced to bog down SRH at 26/4. However, in the middle overs, there was a lack of control and discipline and the death bowlers had to be on the top of their game in order to pull things back.
Nawabs topple the Nizams in a humdinger - Rishabh Pant with the heroics for his team! A well-fought game but eventually, Lucknow Super Giants have managed to get over the line in Hyderabad and pick up their first win of the season. Sunrisers Hyderabad did do well to make LSG fight hard for the win, but 156 was always going to be very tough to defend.

FOUR! Rishabh Pant has done it! LUCKNOW SUPER GIANTS WIN BY 5 WICKETS. Jaydev Unadkat goes full again and just outside off. Pant crouches on one knee, extends his arms and lofts it over mid off for a boundary. Holds his pose for the cameras.

Jaydev Unadkat To Rishabh Pant
FOUR! SCORES LEVEL! This is special from the LSG skipper. Jaydev Unadkat bangs this into the pitch, on middle, takes pace off. Rishabh Pant backs away and plays it like a tennis player's smash with his bat coming over his head. He falls over but makes sure to clear the mid off fielder for a boundary.

Jaydev Unadkat To Rishabh Pant
FOUR! Oh, that is a superb shot under pressure! Jaydev Unadkat misses the yorker by a fraction, serves this full and on middle. Rishabh Pant stays leg side of the ball and drills it straight back past the bowler. Liam Livingstone from long off runs to his left and dives, but the ball wins the race to the fence. 5 needed in 5 now.
Final over coming up. 9 off 9 has now become 9 of 6 for LSG and all the pressure goes back onto the shoulders of their skipper, Rishabh Pant. Jaydev Unadkat (3-0-38-0) will bowl the final over. Can he defend 8 runs and write his name in the history books?

Harshal Patel To Mukul Choudhary
Massive appeal for LBW, and the finger goes up this time! However, LSG take the review. Harshal Patel bowls a slower one, a full toss, on off, dipping in late. Mukul Choudhary swings early and gets hit on the pads. UltraEdge confirms no bat involved, and Ball Tracking shows that the impact is outside off, which saves the batter. Good review from LSG, but three dots in a row to finish the over from Patel.

Harshal Patel To Mukul Choudhary
Two dots! A full toss, on off, there to be put away. Mukul Choudhary has a heave across the line but misses and gets hit on the pads. Maybe the ball just takes the toe-end of the bat.

Harshal Patel To Mukul Choudhary
Big shout for caught behind, turned down! This is back of a length and just around off. Mukul Choudhary shuffles across early to play the scoop but misses. Ishan Kishan grabs it behind the stumps and appeals for the catch, but gets nothing from the umpire. He thinks about the review but does not take it.

Harshal Patel To Rishabh Pant
Short of a length and outside off, slower as well. Rishabh Pant slaps it towards sweeper cover and calls for the second. Nitish Kumar Reddy moves to his left but fumbles while trying to pick it up, and the batters get the second easily. SRH cannot afford to do that now.

FOUR! That puts LSG ahead again! A quicker, low full toss, on middle. Rishabh Pant manages to get underneath it and smashes it down the ground wide of long on. Liam Livingstone runs across to his right, dives in but only manages to parry it over the fence for a boundary. That also brings up the FIFTY for Pant. It has been a captain's knock from him, back at Number 3, but he will want to finish the job now.

Harsh Dubey To Abdul Samad OUT!
OUT! CAUGHT! Harsh Dubey strikes, and SRH are still alive in this game. He tosses it up, full and around off. Abdul Samad looks to go for the big one over long off, but slices across it. He gets more height than distance as the ball flies straight into the hands of Liam Livingstone, who makes no mistake.
