Melbourne:
Considered to be an innovative thinker, 38-year-old Lehman said that he is ready to coach the England team given a chance.
"Yes, I'm interested. It's something I would definitely consider. Shane Warne is a very good friend and he knows what I want to do. You would never knock back an opportunity like that," Lehmann was quoted as saying by the Sun-Herald after Warne went public saying that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) should consider Lehmann ahead of the Ashes series.
Currently coaching Indian Premier League franchise Deccan Chargers, Lehmann has represented Australia in 27 Tests before starting his coaching career with Australia's academy side last year.
"I'm working with second-stringers at the moment and anyone would want to work with players at that international level. I'll talk to them if they want to talk to me," he said.
England's coaching job is the most lucrative position in world cricket with an annual salary of $800,000.
