Batsman | R | B | 4s | 6s | SR |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Temba Bavuma C | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Josh Little b Paul Stirling
0.2 OUT! CAUGHT! The skipper departs for a duck and Ireland have made a fast start. The ball was nicely flighted outside off and Temba reached at it looking to drive it through covers. But he got an outside edge towards backward point and Josh Little took a nice low catch. 0/1

Quinton de Kock Wk | 27 | 20 | 5 | 0 | 135 |
lbw b Simi Singh
6.1 OUT! Simi strikes gold with his first ball! Quinton de Kock, who has been in sublime form, is given LBW. The off spinner fires in an arm ball around off, skidding back in, de Kock is caught on the back foot as he tries to work it on the leg side. He fails to do so cleanly and is pinged on the pads. The bowler appeals and the umpire agrees by raising his finger. De Kock is not looking too happy with the decision, maybe he thinks that he got some inside edge there. Hmm... No DRS is available and he will have to walk back. South Africa staring down the barrel. 38/4
Janneman Malan | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Josh Little b Paul Stirling
0.4 OUT! CAUGHT! It's like deja-vu! Janneman Malan, who has been impressive throughout the series, goes for a duck as well. The ball is short and just a bit wide, Malan looks to slash but again gets it off the edge and straight to Josh Little who makes no mistake at backward point. Paul Stirling has sent back two batsmen for a duck! 0/2
Aiden Markram | 8 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 133.33 |
b Mark Adair
3.3 OUT! TIMBER! That's a peach from Adair. He bowls this one a touch fuller on off and the ball just nips back in after landing. Markram looks to drive it on the up and down the ground but plays all over it. The ball beats the bat and meets the stumps. South Africa have been rocked early again. 24/3
Rassie van der Dussen | 6 | 15 | 0 | 0 | 40 |
c Lorcan Tucker b Josh Little
10 OUT! Caught behind! Ireland continue to press home the advantage. Great smart bowling by Josh Little and South Africa are reeling at 58/5 at the halfway mark. The 'round the wicket angle from the left-arm seamer has brought him this breakthrough. He serves it on a length and close to off, Rassie has to play the line but the ball lands and straightens off the seam to catch the outside edge. Lorcan Tucker takes a simple catch and the South African innings is going from bad to worse. 58/5

c Andy Balbirnie b Craig Young
17.1 OUT! Mulder is done and dusted! The 58-run stand comes to a close. Balbirnie persists with Young and he has brought him a breakthrough. Fuller in length and on middle, Wiaan tries to heave it over the leg side but gets a big top edge. Andy Balbirnie settles underneath it at extra cover. A good knock by Wiaan Mulder is over! 116/6
Bjorn Fortuin | 5 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 125 |
c Andy Balbirnie b Mark Adair
18.4 OUT! Caught! Adair decides to give this delivery his maximum pace and bowls it on the shorter side around off, Bjorn Fortuin is hurried up in his pull shot and gets a top edge towards the cover region. Yet another skier for the Irish skipper and Andy Balbirnie takes it safely. 134/7

c David Miller b Tabraiz Shamsi
8 OUT! Stirling holes out! This is what you expect from Tabraiz Shamsi, the number one T20I bowler. Tossed up ball landing full around off, Stirling fails to resist the temptation of playing a slog sweep. He, however, is a bit early into the execution of his shot and it flies off the top edge of his blade. David Miller at deep mid-wicket takes it safely. 114 needed off 72 balls. 46/3
Kevin O'Brien | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c & b Bjorn Fortuin
1 OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Soft dismissal really. The ball is tossed up around middle and leg and Kevin O'Brien just moves aside looking to push it on the off side but instead lofts it back to the bowler without any force. Bjorn Fortuin takes a simple catch and gives South Africa the start they were looking for. 1/1
Andy Balbirnie C | 6 | 7 | 1 | 0 | 85.71 |
c Quinton de Kock b Beuran Hendricks
4.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Hendricks hits the deck hard and Balbirne just looks to smoke the ball across to the mid-wicket fence but gets a really big top edge behind the stumps. The ball stayed up for a long time and Quinton de Kock takes a really well-judged catch, calling it early. 23/2
George Dockrell | 20 | 20 | 1 | 1 | 100 |
c Aiden Markram b Tabraiz Shamsi
10 OUT! Aiden Markam takes a superb catch! Two catches were put down earlier, one by Fortuin and another by Markram and both the fielders have redeemed themselves now. Very poor shot selection from George Dockrell. There was no need to attack Shamsi with 4 wickets already down. But Dockrell wants to dominate him and for that he takes a big stride towards forward. Makes a decent connection but it's not decent enough to beat the jumping effort of Markram near the long on fence. Ireland have lost half their side and this chase is also going the same way, like the first T20I. 56/5
Harry Tector | 3 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 100 |
c Bjorn Fortuin b Aiden Markram
8.5 OUT! Tector is caught brilliantly! Aiden Markram continues to push it quicker through the air and delivers yet another one flat and full on middle, it's skidding away after landing and Harry Tector tries to flick by getting forward. He closes the face of his bat early and that generates a leading edge. It loops in the air and Bjorn Fortuin runs in from extra cover to complete the catch with a dive. He dropped a sitter earlier and this one will make him feel a lot better. 51/4
Shane Getkate | 24 | 18 | 1 | 2 | 133.33 |
c Temba Bavuma b Tabraiz Shamsi
13.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Shane Getkate's cameo has ended. Shamsi pushes this one full outside off and Getkate looks to slog it on one knee over mid-wicket but doesn't get the elevation. He hits it straight towards Temba Bavuma who jumps to take a sharp catch. 87/6
Lorcan Tucker Wk | 12 | 10 | 2 | 0 | 120 |
b Bjorn Fortuin
14.1 OUT! TIMBER! Fortuin darts this one in the line of the stumps but it's not that quick. Tucker looks to move across and cut but misses the ball completely. It leads to his dismissal as he loses his stumps. 92/7
Simi Singh | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 33.33 |
st Quinton de Kock b Bjorn Fortuin
14.5 OUT! Simi Singh departs! Tossed up ball landing full around middle and leg, Simi shimmies down the track for a big shot but gets an inside edge onto the pads as the ball rolls behind. De Kock is quick to react and picks up the ball to break the stumps. They appeal, it's referred upstairs and after watching a few replays, the third umpire sbows the red signal. 93/8

c Wiaan Mulder b Beuran Hendricks
16.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Short in length and around off, angling away, Young tries to fetch it from there and pull it over mid-wicket but it takes the top edge and flies behind square leg. Mulder circles underneath it and reverse cups the catch. The end is nigh for Ireland. 99/9
Joshua Little | 9 | 11 | 1 | 0 | 81.81 |
b Lungi Ngidi
19.3 OUT! TIMBER! That's the match and the series in the bag for South Africa! Ngidi bowls a really nice slower yorker on off stump, completely beats Little who is through his attempted slog sweep very early. The bails are off and de Kock is relieved that they have managed to pick the final wicket in this match. SOUTH AFRICA WIN BY 42 RUNS! 117/10
