Established in 1949, it has a seating capacity of 6000. It hosted its first ODI between Ireland and England on June 13, 2006. It has been undergoing substantial renovation which also includes the building of a new multi-purpose pavilion. Situated four miles from the city centre and about 15 minutes from the City Airport, commuting to this ground is hardly a hassle.
