Indian squad for Pak tour announced

The BCCI has announced the Indian team for the upcoming Pakistan tour.

The Indian cricket team for the five-match one-day series in Pakistan has been announced. Mumbai spinner Ramesh Powar is the only surprise inclusion in the 15-member Indian cricket squad. Despite his good showing in Australia, Rohan Gavaskar has been left out while the team will go with four fast bowlers: Ashish Nehra, Irfan Pathan, Zaheer Khan and L Balaji. Mohommad Kaif makes a comeback after missing the tri-series in Australia. Kumble, Agarkar out Leg spinner Anil Kumble and fast bowler Ajit Agarkar have however been ruled out of the one-day matches due to injuries. Ashish Nehra's inclusion is subject to a fitness test during the Duleep Trophy final in Mohali from March 4. Kapil Dev has been announced as the temporary bowling coach for the training camp. The team for the three Tests will be announced on March 22. The team: Sourav Ganguly (captain), Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Yuvraj Singh, Mohd Kaif, Hemang Badani, Parthiv Patel, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Laxmipathy Balaji, Murali Kartik, Ramesh Powar and Ashish Nehra.
