Hyderabad:
A fluent innings of 42 by skipper Nathan Astle and a disciplined bowling performance by its bowlers helped Mumbai Champs to a comprehensive 35-run win over Chandigarh Lions in the twenty first match of the Indian Cricket League Edelweiss Challenge, being played at Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Gurgaon on Tuesday.
After skipper Nathan Astle won the toss and elected to bat first, Mumbai Champs were off to a bad start as opener Dheeraj Yadav (0) gave a simple catch to Gupta at first slip off the bowling of Andrew Hall in the first over of the Champs' innings.
RP Patil then joined S Paul as Paul first smashed a boundary off Tuffey in the second over and then hit Cairns for a four in the third over.
Tuffey picked up his first wicket of the match in the form of RP Patil (8) who gave a simple catch to Luv Abhlish at mid off to make it 15 for 2 for Champs in 3.1 overs.
Astle then joined Paul as he hoisted Tuffey for a towering six in the same over before Paul smashed a boundary in the same over.
