Chennai:
Sulking after a dubious leg before decision denied him a well-deserved century, star India opener Virender Sehwag felt umpire Daryl Harper needs to be more consistent in his decisions.
"I am disappointed. I think I was playing the shot and the ball spun too much and (thought) may be the umpire would say not out. But all depends on the umpire's decision. The verdict went in England's favour," a sulking Sehwag said at the post-match press conference on Sunday.
"Unfortunately, he gave two close lbw decisions in England's favour earlier and (I think) he has to be consistent," said Sehwag.
Sehwag was on fire when he tried to paddle one off Graeme Swann only to miss the line and let the ball rap his pad. The batsman had played it way forward and the ball seemed heading for the leg but Harper felt otherwise and upheld Swann's appeal which saw Sehwag falling 17 runs shy of a century.
