Gavaskar's comment lands him in trouble

New Delhi:

It seems, the players aren't the only ones who need to watch what they say. Former India Captain Sunil Gavaskar seems to have run into some trouble with the ICC after his comments on Mike Procter's decision to ban Harbhajan Singh after the Sydney Test.

Gavaskar had criticised Procter for handing Harbhajan a three Test ban after the Sydney Test.

Morgan has admitted that there is concern within the ICC over Gavaskar's comments, considering that Gavaskar is the Chairman of the ICC Cricket Committee.

Morgan said that conflicts of interest do pervade the sport and that now it is up to David Richardson, the ICC General Manager of Operations to look into the matter.

Gavaskar, in fact, had been criticised for suggesting in one of his columns that Mike Procter was a racist for handing Bhajji the ban based on the Australian players' version of what happened in the Sydney Test.

Gavaskar though categorically denied these charges.
