England pace bowler Chris Woakes has been ruled out of the remaining two ODIs against Australia due to a thigh injury. Woakes, who played in the first three matches, damaged his right thigh muscle during the third ODI at Old Trafford, which England won by 93 runs to stay in contention for a series win. The right-arm pacer had bowled only four overs in that match. (Morgan Hails Contribution of Moeen, Rashid and Taylor)
The Warwickshire bowler failed to pick up a single wicket in all three matches in this series, although he was the most economical in the Lord's ODI when Australia notched up 309/7.
The injury is not too serious and Woakes could still be in contention for their series against Pakistan in October. England will play three Tests, four ODIs and three T20Is in the United Arab Emirates. In their previous tour in 2012, they had lost the Test series 0-3 but bounced back to trounce Pakistan 4-0 in the ODIs and register a 2-1 win in the T20Is.
England are currently trailing Australia 1-2 in the five-match series and they will be eager to bounce back in the final two ODIs in Leeds and Manchester.
