Ollie Robinson does the trick for his side yet again. Once again Kohli gets past the fifty-run mark and then gets out. This is shorter and on off, it lands and then straightens a touch. Kohli tries to play it with a closed face of the bat, he tries to play it on the leg side and that costs him. It goes off the outside edge to Jonny Bairstow, who takes another catch. England are on top again. They are just a wicket away now from entering the tail of this Indian side. No matter, how good you are, you are never completely in when batting in such conditions.  105/5

30 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Another one bites the dust! This time the catch is taken. It is not Kohli but Jadeja who has to depart. Not a bad wicket too! Woakes has another one. This is on a length, it lands on off and then holds its line. Jadeja looks to defend but does so inside the line of the ball. It goes off the outside edge and Root this time takes a good low catch at first slip. The move to send Jadeja up the order does not work. Making sure Malan plays at it which he does. Malan looks to poke it out but only manages to get a thick outside edge. The ball goes towards the slip cordon, where Rohit Sharma dives to his right to complete the catch. This is the start that India were looking for.  62/5

15.3 OUT! BOWLED! Stop the press! Stop the press as India have sent Root back early! Yadav does the job with a snorter of a delivery. He serves a length ball, outside off and gets it to come back in. Root looks to block but the ball goes through the gate and hits the off pole. Yadav is delighted and so he should be! We have seen Root being dismissed quite a few times with the ball which jags back in after pitching. We remember Cummins doing that a couple of times during the Ashes, both in Australia and England. Yadav does something similar here. The key was the ball jagging back in and skidding through.  52/3

England have a wicket out of nowhere. Sharma would be devastated with this tame dismissal. Tossed up on off, Pant dances down the track and looks to lift it over the bowler's head but mistimes it back to the bowler, Moeen Ali, who makes no mistake. Fine knock by Pant though, who did not play a rash shot till he got settled. In fact, don't remember whether he even played a rash shot at all in this innings. India are now 8 down and they lead by 315. One suspects it is enough and ideally, they should declare now, with around 25 minutes to Tea, to give the English openers some jitters before the break. Malan hesitates at first but sees Hameed already charging for a run and he tries to get to the other end as well. The substitute fielder, Mayank Agarwal quickly collects the ball and fires a throw to the keeper where Rishabh Pant whips the bails off in a flash. Umpire takes it upstairs and the replay shows that Dawid Malan is short of his crease despite his full-stretched dive. The Indian fans make a roar and England lose their second wicket.  120/2

He bowls a good-length ball on the fifth stump channel, Joe Root stays deep in the crease and looks to cut it away. He is perhaps a bit too late into his shot.
