London:

Andrew Flintoff's cruise hours after the team's humiliating defeat against the West Indies may not speak volumes about his disciplines but the England and Wales Cricket Board has no problems with the all-rounder.

ECB Managing Director Huge Morris sprang in the defence of Flintoff and Steve Harmison after the duo spent the Saturday night aboard a cruise ship, barely hours after they had been humiliated by the West Indies in the first Test. They eventually returned to Kingston by helicopter the next day.

"Both Andrew Flintoff and Steve Harmison were invited aboard a cruise ship and they sought permission to go, from Andrew Strauss on the cricket side of things, and Phil Neale on the operations side of things and they were granted permission," Morris was quoted as saying by 'The Daily Telegraph'.

The ECB official said there was no reports of Flintoff getting drunk like he did in the 'Fredalo' episode during the 2007 World Cup.

"I've spoken to some people aboard the cruise ship and they said they behaved impeccably," Morris said. Morris said it was not that Flintoff or Harmison didn't care about the defeat.

"It's certainly not a case of players not caring at all. Flintoff and Harmison were asked to dinner and that permission was granted. It was no reflection of the hurt they were feeling," he said.
