c Mohammad Rizwan b Shaheen Afridi
3.3 OUT! Caught! Pakistan draw first blood. Solid comeback from the young Pakistani bowler. He was hit for a boundary in the previous ball. Shaheen hits the deck hard and pulls his length back. It is in the channel of uncertainty around off. Brilliant bowling this from Shaheen. Only one ball nipped back in and that was the first ball that Burns played. He expects this one to come in as well but it does not. Joe looks to defend but gets a thick outside edge as the ball keeps its shape. It goes to the keeper. Rizwan moves to his right and takes a simple catch. Excellent start for the visitors. 8/1

Marnus Labuschagne | 162 | 238 | 22 | 0 | 68.06 |
b Shaheen Afridi
83.2 OUT! BOWLED! Finally, finally, Pakistan have something to cheer about! Excellent bowling from Shaheen Afridi. He has been the best bowler for Pakistan and just like on Day 1 he has a wicket with the new ball. The second new ball this time. A lapse of concentration maybe from Labuschagne. Fuller around off, Marnus looks to drive it straight leaving a big gap between his bat and pad. The ball jags back in and goes right through the gate to uproot the off pole. End of a superb knock from Marnus Labuschagne. He will be gutted to miss out on a double ton but boy has this not been a gem of an innings to watch! He walks off to a standing ovation from the crowd and he deserves every bit of it. The gigantic partnership of 361 has finally come to an end. 369/2

Steven Smith | 36 | 64 | 2 | 0 | 56.25 |
c Mohammad Rizwan b Shaheen Afridi
111.1 OUT! Caught! This is a very strange shot from Steven Smith. You do not see him getting out like that especially in Tests. Fuller outside off, the ball comes in just a bit. Smith goes for a big hoick down the leg side. The ball kisses the inside edge and goes to the left of the keeper. Rizwan does really well to dive on that side and takes a good, good catch. Third wicket for Shaheen Afridi. He has been the only shining spot in this bowling unit. Maybe Australia are looking to declare sooner rather than later and are looking for quick runs maybe that's why the shot. 490/3

c Tim Paine b Josh Hazlewood
17 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! No. 3 down. Quality bowling from Hazlewood, he deserves this wicket. He kept bowling that excellent line and length, beat the bat a few times and now finally gets the reward. Bowls it again in the corridor of uncertainty. Masood, with not a lot of foot movement, looks to defend but does so inside the line. The ball hits the outside edge and goes into the mitts of the keeper. Pakistan slip further. 38/3
|
|||||
Imam-ul-Haq | 2 | 16 | 0 | 0 | 12.50 |
c David Warner b Mitchell Starc
4.3 OUT! Caught! You just cannot keep David Warner out of this game, can you? Excellent bowling this from Starc. Bowls a real fajita. Hits the deck really hard with a 150.7 kph ball. It is in the channel of uncertainty around off. Imam looks to defend but the ball takes a thick outside edge straight to the man at gully. David Warner there pouches it in safely. The day he has had, one would feel he would have taken it even if it was 4 feet away. 3/1

Azhar Ali C | 9 | 23 | 1 | 0 | 39.13 |
c Steven Smith b Pat Cummins
12 OUT! CAUGHT! It is a clean catch from Steven Smith and Azhar Ali has to make the long walk back to the pavilion. This though is brilliant bowling from Pat Cummins. Bowls a full ball on off squaring up Ali, he looks to push at it but it goes off the outside edge to Smith at second slip. He comes forward and takes a good catch. The umpires go upstairs to check whether it is a clean catch. The replays roll in and they show that Smith has taken it cleanly. Pakistan in deep trouble at the Adelaide Oval. 22/2
|
|||||
Babar Azam | 97 | 132 | 11 | 0 | 73.48 |
c Tim Paine b Mitchell Starc
65.1 OUT! Caught behind! Such a painful blow for Babar and the whole of Pakistan. A brilliant innings from Babar comes to an end just 3 run short of a well-deserved century. Starc gets a 5-fer instead. He has been excellent with the strawberry. The Australian players and fans are ecstatic. Full and on the fourth stump line. Babar looks to go for a drive. He gets a thick outside edge which goes to the right of the keeper. Tim Paine dives on that side and takes a good single-handed catch. 194/7
|
|||||
Asad Shafiq | 9 | 14 | 2 | 0 | 64.28 |
c Tim Paine b Mitchell Starc
23.3 OUT! TAKEN! This time the edge finds the gloves of the keeper! Starc gets his second and the partnership which did get off to a start has been cut short. The angle does him in here. It lands on off which means Shafiq has to play at it but then it slants away. The ball kisses the outside edge and goes to Paine who makes no mistake. 69/4
|
|||||
Iftikhar Ahmed | 10 | 26 | 2 | 0 | 38.46 |
c Tim Paine b Mitchell Starc
31.2 OUT! That is a rippa! Tim Paine, you beauty! But this is a horrendous shot from Ahmed. He did try one similar early on, that time he got beaten but this time the ball finds the edge and it is taken. Starc gets his third and Pakistan have half their side back in the hut before they cross 100. This is a short and wide delivery outside off, Iftikhar throws his bat at it but the ball goes off the outside edge and it is going towards first slip. Paine dives full stretch to his right, sticks one hand out and the ball stays in. Had he missed it, no one would have been able to take the rebound. Joe Burns at first slip had his back turned while the second slip fielder was taking evasive action. The Aussies are absolutely ecstatic. Can they get into the tail tonight? 89/5
|
|||||
Mohammad Rizwan Wk | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
c Tim Paine b Mitchell Starc
31.5 OUT! Another one bites the dust! Once again it is an unbelievable shot from the batter. What are the Pakistan batters doing? They are nearing Stumps and such outrageous shots are being played. Azam will be gutted watching all this from the other end. Starc gets his 4th and it is his second in the same over. It is another nothing delivery, full and wide outside off. Rizwan reaches out for it. The ball goes off the outside edge and it is an easier catch for Paine this time. With around 10 overs to go tonight, we might well see Pakistan being bowled out. 89/6
|
|||||
Yasir Shah | 113 | 213 | 13 | 0 | 53.05 |
c Nathan Lyon b Pat Cummins
94.4 OUT! Caught! Finally the catch goes in the hands. Lyon it is who takes it running forward. A fine catch which means end of a brilliant innings. A short ball on middle, Shah goes for the pull once again but the timing is not proper. It goes high towards deep square leg. Lyon runs forward and pouches it nicely. 302/10
|
|||||
Shaheen Afridi | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
lbw b Mitchell Starc
65.2 OUT! LBW! It looked plumb and it was indeed plumb. Two wickets in two balls for Starc! Very full and swinging in from middle and off. Shaheen looks to flick but misses. It hits him flush on the pads. There is a huge appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Shaheen has a word with his partner and then signals the 'T'. Replay rolls in and first Hot Spot confirms no involvement of the bat. Hawk Eye then comes in and it shows all red. Shaheen has to walk back. Starc on a hat-trick now. 194/8
|
|||||
Mohammad Abbas | 29 | 78 | 4 | 1 | 37.17 |
c David Warner b Pat Cummins
90.3 OUT! Abbas has to go. The partnership is broken and Cummins has his second. A peach of a ball this one. Back of a length ball on middle, Abbas looks to duck it away but is in a tangled position. He took off his eyes and the ball takes the gloves and goes straight to gully where the triple centurion pouches it comfortably. 50th Test wicket this year for Cummins. 281/9

c Mitchell Starc b Nathan Lyon
39.2 OUT! Caught! Stop the press. Nathan Lyon has a wicket to his name in this Test match. He bowled well in the first innings but did not have anything to show for it but finally he has. You live by the sword and you die by it. Masood was using his footwork brilliantly and he has actually used it well here as well but this time he has not got the elevation. Floated on middle and off, Shan comes down the track and looks to loft it over wide mid off. But he cannot get the elevation and ends up hitting it straight to Starc. The century stand is broken and Paine is jumping in joy. Pakistan still trail by 164 runs and will have to put in the hard yards again. 123/4

Imam-ul-Haq | 9 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
lbw b Josh Hazlewood
3.3 OUT! LBW! Plumb in front. Hazlewood gets the new ball and strikes early in the innings. Another failure for Imam. A duck for him this innings. Superb ball this one. Fuller ball this time, it jags back in as Imam brings his bat down to put bat on ball. He misses and the ball thuds on the pads. A loud appeal from the Australian and the umpire raises his finger instantly. Imam goes towards Masood thinking about the DRS. They talk the entire 10 seconds and eventually decide against it. A right call that one as the replays roll in and shows that it was hitting the top of middle and leg. Exactly what the Aussies would've hoped after enforcing the follow-on. With the wicket, the umpires decide to go off for the DINNER BREAK. 2/1

Azhar Ali C | 9 | 8 | 1 | 0 | 112.50 |
c Steven Smith b Mitchell Starc
5 OUT! CAUGHT! What a catch from Steven Smith! The skipper's poor form in Tests in 2019 continues. Starc bowls a full delivery swinging away, Ali looks to push it but it hits the outside edge and goes towards second slip. Smith dives to his right and takes an excellent catch. Mitchell Starc gets his first wicket of this innings adding to his tally of 6 in the first innings. Also, the players are running off the ground as it has started raining heavily. 11/2
|
|||||
Babar Azam | 8 | 12 | 1 | 0 | 66.66 |
c Tim Paine b Josh Hazlewood
10 OUT! CAUGHT! The man in form is out of here! Big big wicket for Australia. Azam has a tendency to bat for long periods and he has shown that in his previous two innings but not this time. Hazlewood bowls a good length ball outside off, Babar looks to defend it but goes off the outside edge towards Paine where he makes no mistake in pouching this one. Australia seven wickets away from a crushing victory. Will this end today itself? 20/3
|
|||||
Asad Shafiq | 57 | 112 | 5 | 0 | 50.89 |
c David Warner b Nathan Lyon
48 OUT! Caught at leg slip! Lyon has two now and both the overnight batsmen are dismissed. Extra turn and bounce for the offie. He dishes it around middle and leg, Shafiq moves back to work it across the line but it catches the higher half of his bat and settles into the safe hands of Warner. Good fighting knock by Asad Shafiq is over and Pakistan are staring down the barrel after showing some promise this morning. 154/5
|
|||||
Iftikhar Ahmed | 27 | 70 | 0 | 0 | 38.57 |
c Marnus Labuschagne b Nathan Lyon
67.2 OUT! Caught! Finally Labuschagne has taken a catch at short leg. Lyon gets the third. The G.O.A.T. finding some fodder once again. Flighted on middle and leg, Iftikhar looks to defend but there is some extra bounce and the ball goes off the gloves to the right of short leg. Labuschagne initially fails to hold onto it as the ball pops out of his hands. Although he manages to dive and grab it in the second attempt. Another budding stand has been broken. 201/6
|
|||||
Mohammad Rizwan Wk | 45 | 103 | 4 | 0 | 43.68 |
b Josh Hazlewood
81.1 OUT! Bowled 'em! No. 9 goes and the Aussies are just a wicket away from a series win. A full ball, tailing in. Rizwan looks to drive but misses and the off pole behind gets disturbed. They check for the front foot no ball but Hazlewood is fine. Third wicket for Hazlewood and Pakistan's last hope of avoiding innings defeat takes a massive dive. A fighting innings from Rizwan though. 235/9
|
|||||
Yasir Shah | 13 | 26 | 1 | 0 | 50 |
lbw b Nathan Lyon
75.3 OUT! LBW! Pakistan lose one of their reviews. The centurion from the first innings cannot hang around for long this time around. Shorter and slightly quicker on off. It pitches and straightens. Yasir looks to play from the back foot but is late on it and the ball hits him flush on the pads. The Aussies appeal and the umpire raises his finger. Yasir makes eye-contact with Rizwan and then signals the 'T'. Replays roll in. First Hot Spot shows that there is no involvement of the bat. Snicko confirms it later on. Ball Tracker then comes in and it reflects all reds. Yasir has to walk back. No heroics from him in the second innings. Pakistan still trail by 66 runs. 221/7
|
|||||
Shaheen Afridi | 1 | 15 | 0 | 0 | 6.66 |
c Josh Hazlewood b Nathan Lyon
79.3 OUT! Caught! Fifer for Lyon! What kind of shot is this, Shaheen? A tossed up ball around off, Afridi looks to launch it out of the stadium but he manages to slice it high towards mid off. The fielder, Hazlewood, settles himself and pouches the ball comfortably. 16th fifer for Lyon in Tests, 1st against Pakistan, 50th at Adelaide Oval. Two wickets remaining, will this session be extended? 229/8

Mohammad Abbas | 1 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 20 |
run out (Pat Cummins)
82 OUT! Wow, a direct hit by Pat Cummins to end proceedings. Very rare that you keep this guy out of action. No wickets? No problem. I shall get one through my fielding. Patto takes aim, holds his poise, stands still and fires. Bowled. Okay, run out!!! Australia's golden boy of 2019 has ended this Test match and series with a bull's eye. Fuller ball on off, Musa manages to hit it to the right of mid on. Abbas was going for a non-existent single and Musa sends him back. But Abbas is halfway down and the brilliance of Cummins finds him short. He is so short of his crease that the umpire does not even go upstairs. The Australian players are up in joy. AUSTRALIA WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 48 RUNS and they win their first series in the ICC World Test Championship. 239/10
