New Delhi:

Viswanathan Anand has finally crossed the magical 2800 ELO rating mark. The Indian chess wizard's record fifth title at the Corus Super Grandmasters tournament in January gave him 11 ELO rating points, pushing his tally up to 2803. Anand becomes only the fourth player in the history of the game to achieve a rating of 2800 and above after Russians Garry Kasparov and Vladimir Kramnik and Bulgaria's Vesselin Topalov. Incidentally, Topalov is also the highest-ranked player in the latest rankings with 2804 ELO points.
