Anand through first round at Eurotel

Prague:

Former world chess champion Vishwanathan Anand has won his first round match in the Eurotel World Chess Trophy Tournament in Prague. The tournament, with a prize money of about Rs 2.15 crores, has brought together the three best players in the world right now--Garry Kasparov, Vladimir Kramnik and Anand. It is the first time since January 2001 that all three are featuring in one tournament. Next month, rival chess bodies are also meeting in Prague to discuss the prospect of having one world champion rather than the present format that has seen the game having two world champions since the last ten years.
