Hong Kong Open Superseries final highlights: PV Sindhu fought hard but could not settle in the game as Tai Tzu Ying played brilliantly and bagged the Hong Kong Open title.
PV Sindhu went down fighting against World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying in the final of the Hong Kong Open Super Series on Sunday. Tai Tzu Ying, from the word go, dominated the game and did not lose control of the match at any point. The Indian, on the other hand, tried coming back in the game but could not match the agility and reach of her opponent throughout the game. Sindhu, who had defeated Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon in the semi-final, had a good start to the second game of the match but was soon overpowered by the brilliant smash and net play of Tai Tzu Ying. The World No 1 used her brilliant reach of the shuttle to pick up Sindhu's smashes thus negating her main threat. Saina Nehwal and Prakash Padukone are the only Indians to win the title in 2010 and 1982.
