Tyreek Hill's return to the NFL will take more time, giving teams another reason to wait before making a move for the veteran wide receiver. Tyreek Hill has been working his way back from the serious knee injury that ended his 2025 season, but his comeback has not moved as quickly as hoped. Now, Tyreek Hill's doctors have advised him to push his return into October. That decision could keep Tyreek Hill off the field for several more weeks, but it also gives him more time to make sure his body is ready for the demands of another NFL season.

Doctors Have Told Tyreek Hill To Push His Return Into October

Tyreek Hill's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, provided the latest update during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show. According to Drew Rosenhaus, doctors have recommended that Tyreek Hill delay his comeback until sometime in October.

“His doctors have recommended though that he postpone his comeback until perhaps sometime in October. So, we're playing on the safe side. We just want to make sure that he's 100% good to go. We're not in a hurry.”

The decision is understandable given the nature of Tyreek Hill's injury. Tyreek Hill suffered a dislocated left knee during the Miami Dolphins' 2025 season, bringing his campaign to an early end. The injury also became a major factor in the Miami Dolphins' decision to move on from Tyreek Hill.

For Tyreek Hill, the priority now is getting back without cutting corners. Tyreek Hill's biggest weapon has always been his speed, so returning before he feels fully prepared could make it harder for him to play the way he expects.

The Delay Could Give NFL Teams More Time To Decide On Tyreek Hill

The delay does not appear to have ended Tyreek Hill's chances of finding a new team. Drew Rosenhaus said NFL clubs have already reached out for updates, suggesting there is still interest in the former All-Pro.

That could become important later in the season. Teams often learn more about their roster needs after several games, and Tyreek Hill could become attractive to a contender looking for another offensive weapon.

Tyreek Hill also remains connected to his former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes. After Patrick Mahomes returned from a major knee injury, Tyreek Hill reacted on X with two simple words: “Different man ????”

For now, Tyreek Hill's next team remains uncertain. But if Tyreek Hill's recovery stays on track, his eventual return could give a playoff contender a chance to add one of the league's most dangerous speed threats at a critical point in the season.
