Nolan discussed Vrabel's situation on Mad Dog Sports Radio and made it clear that the Patriots' loss was not the only reason for her frustration.

"I'm annoyed at Vrabel; I'm sorry, I am," Nolan said. "I'm annoyed at Vrabel because I had such faith in him as a coach and a man, and I'm not saying he might not be a great coach, and I'm not.

"I don't even think, I guess, even saying that you have to not cheat on your wife, allegedly, to be a strong leader of men, right? I'm not even saying that."

Nolan said she still recognizes Vrabel's ability as a coach but admitted that the controversy affected her personal view of him.

"I just am saying, watching him isn't as fun as it was last year. That's just the truth of the matter," she added.

The issue began in April after photographs showed Vrabel with Russini at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona. Vrabel denied any improper meaning behind the encounter and described it as a completely innocent interaction. Russini later resigned from The Athletic.

Vrabel also said he had difficult conversations with people close to him before missing the final day of the NFL Draft to seek counseling.

The controversy had already created an uncomfortable offseason for Vrabel, but the Patriots' opening loss has added another layer of pressure.

New England managed only 10 points against Seattle despite ranking second in the NFL in scoring last season. Quarterback Drake Maye's interception late in the game ended the Patriots' comeback hopes.

For Nolan, the result made an already difficult situation more frustrating.

"I was really happy about the start to build this new-look Patriots franchise, that now I'm going like, have a good game or I'm going to be annoyed," she said.

Vrabel now has the task of keeping the Patriots focused while proving that the opening-night loss was only a setback. A strong response in the coming weeks could quickly shift attention back toward football.

For now, though, the disappointing start has once again placed his offseason controversy in the spotlight.
