Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza has entered the mixed doubles final at the US Open, moving one step closer to securing a third doubles Grand Slam title. Sania is also in the women's doubles semifinal along with her Zimbabwean partner Cara Black.
Top seeds Sania and her mixed doubles partner Bruno Soares were in for a thrashing early in the first set when their opponents Yung Jan Chan and Ross Hutchins went up 5-0. However, the Indo-Brazilian pair fought back to make it 5-5.
Sania and Soares then took the first set 7-5, making it 7 games on the trot in what was a remarkable comeback.
However, the unseeded Chinese Taipei-British pair of Chan and Hutchins fought back to take the second set 6-4 to force the match result into a tiebreaker.
