US Open Next Target After Wimbledon
The top-seeded duo will take on fourth seeds Casey Dellacqua of Australia and Kazakhstan's Yaroslava Shvedova in the final. Shvedova, 28, had been due to get married on Saturday but has had to shelve those plans due to her surprise run to the championship match.
Paes and Hingis Win Mixed Doubles
Leander Paes and Swiss Martina Hingis became the first team since 1969 to win three Grand Slam mixed doubles titles in the same season at the US Open on Friday. The fourth seeds defeated American duo Sam Querrey and Bethanie Mattek-Sands 6-4, 3-6, 10-7 to add the New York crown to their wins at the Australian Open and Wimbledon.
Sania-Martina Win Thriller in Wimbledon Final
Sania Mirza and Martina Hingis second-seeded Russian duo of Ekaterina Makarova and Elena Vesnina 5-7, 7-6, 7-5 in the summit clash that lasted two hours and 47 minutes. Hingis, 34, and 28-year-old India star Mirza came from a set down and 2-5 behind in the final set.
