Somdev Devvarman bowed out of the ATP Western and Southern Financial Group Masters after losing a three-set thriller against Robby Ginepri here.

Somdev Devvarman bowed out of the ATP Western and Southern Financial Group Masters after losing a three-set thriller against Robby Ginepri here.

The Indian qualifier lost 7-6 (3) 6-7 (4) 2-6 to the local wild card in a gruelling two-hour-and-34 minute first round match of the USD 24,30,000 hard court event.

This is for the second time in a row that Somdev has lost in the first round of an ATP Masters series event.

Meanwhile, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi have advanced to the second round of the doubles event with their respective partners after getting a bye in the first round.
