New Delhi:

He commands a massive fan following all over the world but Indian supporters may well have become Roger Federer's favourite. The 17-time Grand Slam champion has been interacting with fans from his official Twitter handle ahead of his maiden India visit this December. Federer is making a shortlist of the places he must see. The Taj Mahal is one of them.

Federer replaced an injured Rafael Nadal in the International Premier Tennis League -- scheduled to start from October 12. "Namaste India! I'm really looking forward to making my first trip to New Delhi and playing for the Indian Aces. My team tells me that there are a lot of tennis fans and my supporters in the region, so I hope you can come out and support me in December. See you there" he had said in a recorded message on Monday.

The excitement is clearly palpable.

Federer asked his Twitter followers to Photoshop his image with famous Indian locations in the background. "Show me where I should visit," he wrote on the micro-blogging website. While the response has been phenomenal, Federer has been gracious enough to acknowledge the effort and the support he enjoys here. Taj Mahal and Jaisalmer are two destination that have impressed the Swiss legend.

While the 33-year-old will be the star attraction once IPTL begins, others like men's world number one Novak Djokovic, his women's counterpart Serena Williams, Andy Murray, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and former women's top-ranked players Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic and Caroline Wozniacki have also confirmed their participation. Clearly then, with a long list of tennis superstars to cheer for, Federer has wasted no time to get off the block and reserve the loudest roar for himself.
