President Pranab Mukherjee congratulated Indian tennis player Sania Mirza on Saturday for winning the US Open mixed doubles title with Brazilian partner Bruno Soares.

Top seeds Sania and Soares defeated American-Mexican pairing of Abigail Spears and Santiago Gonzalez 6-1, 2-6, 11-9 to win the title at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York on Friday. (Also Read: Sania Dedicates US Open Win to Telangana and India)
Sania later replied to the tweet, thanking the president

The Indian tennis star had also won the 2009 Australian Open and 2012 French Open mixed doubles titles with Mahesh Bhupathi.
