Former Davis Cupper passes away
Former Indian Davis Cupper and Asian Chmapionship winning tennis player Shyam Minotra on Tuesday passed away after prolonged illness.

Former Indian Davis Cupper and Asian Chmapionship winning tennis player Shyam Minotra on Tuesday passed away after prolonged illness.
Apart from representing India in the Davis Cup, Minotra won the Asian Championship (along with SP Misra) in 1970 and Asian Games Doubles Tennis Bronze Medal (with Chiradip Mukherjee) at Bangkok in 1978.
After retiring from tennis he remained closely associated with DLTA. He also served as the chairman of the Davis Cup Selection committee of All Iindia Tennis Association (AITA) for a long time.
"We pray to the almighty to give strength to his family and friends to bear this irreplaceable loss. May his soul rest in peace," AITA President Yashwant Sinha said in a statement.
