Tennis fans will not have to pay from their pockets to watch Champions Tennis League (CTL) matches in Chandigarh as team owners of Punjab Marshalls have decided to do away with entry tickets for home matches. (Read more tennis stories here)
"The management has decided not to levy any entry fee, becoming the first franchisee to do so in CTL 2," a press release stated.
Punjab Marshalls will play their home matches at the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA) Stadium on November 27 and 28.
Cyprus' Marcos Baghdatis will lead the Marshalls which also has former World No.4 Greg Rusedski, Ukrain's Elina Svitolina (World No.20) and India's No. 2 and Incheon Asian Games doubles gold medallist Saketh Myneni.
"We are proud to have Marcos Baghdatis in our team this time. It will bring a lot of depth in the team composition, thanks to his experience on the Tour," team owner Gurpreet Singh Kiki said.
The Marshalls are clubbed with Mumbai Tennis Masters and the Raipur Rangers in Group A. They will start their campaign in Mumbai on November 23.
