A runners-up finish at the St. Petersburg Open propelled Rohan Bopanna to career-best ranking of number 14 in the ATP doubles charts and also helped his team with Aisam-ul-haq Qureshi get back the number six rank.

Sunday's performance helped Bopanna rise two rungs in the players ranking while the Indo-Pak Express moved one place up, keeping them alive for World Tour Finals, where top eight singles players and doubles teams compete.

Mahesh Bhupathi, who slid to 15th in individual doubles ranking, and his Belarusian partner Max Mirnyi are standing on the edge of top-eight.

Leander Paes, who has already qualified for the World Tour Finals along with Lukas Dlouhy, was static on number five.

Meanwhile in the singles, Somdev Devvarman slipped to 96, a loss of two positions.

In the WTA charts, Sania Mirza rose a rung to 165 and Poojashree Venkatesh jumped 44 places to 554 in singles. In doubles, Sania's ranking was unchanged at 64.
