South Africa vs India ODIs: When MS Dhoni and Co. were humbled in the Rainbow Nation

South Africa claimed the three-match ODI series against India 2-0 after the third and final one-dayer at SuperSport Park Centurion was abandoned due to rain.

Continuing from where he left off at Johannesburg, De Kock slammed his second consecutive ton and adding a 194-run stand for the first wicket with Hashim Amla. He then followed it up with another ton at Super Sport Park, Centurion to be the highest run-getter in the series with 342 runs.

Dale Steyn: South African pace spearhead was at his fiery best as he tormented the Indian top order throughout the seies. He finished with six wickets and a miserly economy rate of 2.80 in the three matches.

AB de Villiers led his side by example from the word go. His devastating knock of 77 from 47 stung the visitors and they failed to recover. He missed out in Durban but made up for it with a century in Centurion before the game was washed out, giving his side a 2-0 series win in the three-match series.

R Ashwin, expected to do a containing job with tight bowling failed to trouble the South Africa batsmen as he gave away 169 runs, picking up just one wicket in the three games.

Ishant Sharma, who was picked in the squad for the second game at Kingsmead, Durban, came up with his second-best performance in ODIs, when he took four wickets in the final game at Centurion. Ishant picked up 4 for 40 in his ten overs that included a double-wicket maiden. Contrary to his performances at home, Ishant bowled the right line and lengths on helpful conditions and aggregate a series figures of 4 wickets for 78 runs in 17 overs at an impressive economy of 4.58. The tall pacer's show in the final match must have given team a confidence boost ahead of the Test series.

MS Dhoni was the lone fighter for India with the bat in the two matches where the team struggled to cope against South Africa's pace attack. Dhoni and Co. were denied any chance of a consolation win in the third ODI when rain played spoilsport after South Africa had posted 301 for 8 in Centurion.
