Rajput wins gold in World Cup, qualifies for 2012 Olympics
Commonwealth Games bronze winner Sanjeev Rajput on Thursday became the third Indian marksman to book a berth for London Olympics after winning the gold medal at the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Final at shooting World Cup in Changwon, Korea.

Commonwealth Games bronze winner Sanjeev Rajput on Thursday became the third Indian marksman to book a berth for London Olympics after winning the gold medal at the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men Final at shooting World Cup in Changwon, Korea.
Sanjeev shot a total of 1278.2 (398+386+392+102.2) points to clinch the gold medal, beating Serbian Nemanja Mirosavljev (1272.5) and Ole Kristian Bryhn (1271.9) of Norway.
World record holder Gagan Narang was the first Indian shooter to book a place for the London Olympics when he won the bronze medal in men's 10m air rifle in the World Shooting Championships in Munich last year.
Rookie shooter Hariom Singh had bagged the country's second quota place and the first ever in the 50m rifle prone event for the London Olympics when he finished sixth at the 50th World Shooting Championship in Munich last year.
More than 500 shooters from 58 countries competed in the World Cup in Korea from April 7 to 14.
The ISSF World Cup Series moves now to Beijing, where a Shotgun WC Stage will take place at the 2008 Clay Target Olympic venue starting from April 19.
The next events are set for May 14, when the ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup Stage kicks off in Fort Benning, USA.
