Weather forecasters are expected to work overtime in the coming weeks to provide accurate information for the sailing events during the London Olympics, beginning from July 29.
While the wind and the waves pose a serious challenge to sailors in competitions around the globe, the coming weeks will see favourable conditions helping the cause of the participants, off the southern coast of Britain where the events will take place. According to a report in The Guardian, 'summery conditions' are likely to prevail.
While the conditions may be hinting at being rather genial towards the sailors, many are expecting the cliffs around Portland to flirt with the winds that can set off disturbances on the surface of the sea. However, with top sailors representing their countries here, a healthy competition can be assured for sure.
