Riyan Parag smashed Axar Patel for two sixes in the over. The Rajasthan Royals captain is playing really well. The first maximum teased the fielder at deep mid-wicket before going over, while the second biggie went way above long-on for a 91-metre six. Parag has moved to 20 off 13 balls.

9.2 - A couple from Dhruv Jurel, and that sees Rajasthan Royals race to 100 runs in 50 balls. This has been a good batting wicket so far, and RR should aim to post a total of at least 220 to stay safe.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is OUT! He has holed this one out to the man at long-on. Madhav Tiwari bowled a fuller delivery and Sooryavanshi failed to get elevation on it. He misses out on his half-century by four runs.

"Happy to be back first. I was pretty unsure about the wicket as well. It looks like it's dry, but then we've seen the past scores and results here, chasing has been better, though it also tends to slow down a bit later on. So I was a little confused, but happy to bowl first because of that," said Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag.

"We've had some ups and downs in the last few games. I think we haven't defended totals very well. But today gives us another opportunity to do that and hopefully get it right. So we've gone with an extra seamer today and hopefully we can defend the total better. Jaddu is out because of workload management and all of that, and Ravi Singh comes in for us," he added.

"We would like to bowl. Obviously when you win, you feel good, and the atmosphere is positive too. There is only one change. Looking at the nature of the pitch, unfortunately Auqib Nabi misses out, and instead Vijay Tripurana is making his debut," said Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel.

"Earlier I used to think a lot after seeing the wicket, but now I'm not thinking too much because whenever I've tried to predict it, the opposite has happened," he added.

Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel has won the toss and opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in their IPL 2026 game at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Everyone will be interested to see how Mitchell Starc can stop a marauding Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has hit 40 sixes in 11 games while scoring 440 runs at a stunning strike-rate of 236.55.

Of late, DC have been playing on tracks which aren't exactly very high scoring but the lack of bite in their international spin attack, comprising skipper Axar Patel (10 wickets from 12 games) and Kuldeep Yadav (7 wickets from 11 games), has been the problem.

No teenager since the genius Sachin Tendulkar has captured the public imagination quite like Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the schoolboy from Samastipur in Bihar, who already boasts a sizeable fan base. His 'Capital Debut' at the Ferozeshah Kotla is no less than the cricketing equivalent of a 'Met Gala' with the who's who of NCR clamouring for free passes.

While DC's qualification chances (10 points from 12 games) are already slim, a defeat would officially knock them out of the playoff race. RR, on the other hand, have 12 points from 11 games. For a clear-cut entry, they need to win all three of their remaining matches.
