After a draw and a loss, world number nine India will be desperate to register their first win in the tournament. Mandeep Singh, who was unavailable for Monday's match against New Zealand due to an ankle injury, remains doubtful for today's match as well.
On the other hand, Malaysia, who have lost both their matches so far against New Zealand and Australia, will be keen to better their record against India, who have won all their previous three matches. Malaysia are ranked 12 in the world.
The last time both the teams met was during the World Cup last year where India won 3-2. Prior to that, the teams had clashed in the 2013 Asian Champions Trophy and the same year they met during the Asia Cup and on both occasions India came out on top.
