New Delhi:
Despite Indian hockey team's poor performance in the Rabo hockey tournament in Holland, coach Rajinder Singh Junior seems confident about team's prospects.
He said that the team was improving since they had lost narrowly rather than by a four or five goal margin.
"Whoever does not play well, whether they are senior or junior, will have to go. I have not named any players. I am hearing all this in the media," he said.
Playing safe
The coach might have blasted the players but perhaps that is an attempt at safeguarding his own job.
This is not surprising since Rajinder Singh Junior is the fourth coach of the Indian team since the Athens Olympics last year.
But the coach is confident that everything will fall into place before India's next major event, the Champions Trophy to be held in Indian in December.
"We have done well because we have lost our matches narrowly. This is much better than earlier times when we were losing by 4-5 goals in each game," he added.
It's the same story once again, an expression of satisfaction after a mediocre show and a fresh plea for patience.
It looks like nothing has changed in Indian hockey over the last two years.
