New Delhi:

After months of confrontations, finally some good news for Indian hockey as Hockey India and Indian Hockey Federation have agreed to function into one body.

In its last bid to unite the two bodies, India's sports ministry met the two warring bodies today.

Although the IHF has confirmed that the two bodies will function together, the new name for the body as not yet been decided. They will currently work under name Hockey India.

The new hockey boady will have the elections next year. Till then four members from each faction will constitute the eight-member working committee.

Players from the camp, who went to world series function in Mumbai and were then kept out of the camp, will now be allowed to train as this is an Olympic qualifier camp.

The IHF had lost official recognition in 2008 following bribery allegations and was replaced by Hockey India, but the IHF was revived by an Indian court order last year.

The World Series Hockey will now go on as scheduled.
