India hockey skipper Sardar Singh will be felicitated with the prestigious Padma Shri award - the fourth highest civilian honour - on the Republic Day.

India hockey skipper Sardar Singh will be felicitated with the prestigious Padma Shri award this year.
Under Sardar's captaincy in 2014, India defeated Pakistan to win gold in Asian Games in Incheon and qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics. India thrashed mighty Australians 3-1 in a four-match Test series Down Under. India also reached the final of Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
