Gurgaon:
It was a full house on Sunday at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon as 2000 Augusta Masters Champion Vijay Singh held a clinic meant for India's budding young golfers.
But a second look at the turnout revealed that grown-ups outnumbered the youngsters!
Among the crowd were two of India's top professional golfers - Jyoti Randhawa and Harmeet Kahlon a€" and former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev.
They were all hoping to pick up something from the Fijian to improve their game. "Well it's a great honour and it's a historic day for golf in India. It's a pleasure for me personally," said Kahlon.
"I think he is an excellent golfer. It's a big opportunity for us to see Vijay," said one youngster.
Also among the hordes of people was former West Indian opening batsman Gordon Greenidge. "I have actually tried my hand at the game and I love it. But I just don't take enough opportunities to get onto the golf course," remarked Greenidge.
It was a hectic weekend for the Fijian, making only his second trip to the land of his forefathers in 20 years.
