Shiv Kapur was unable to make the move that he was looking for on the final day of the Scottish Open as he finished with a round of two-over 72 in what turned out to be a disappointing finish.
The score saw him finish with a total of five-under 275 and in tied 41st place, a drop of 23 places from overnight tied 14th. (Click here for latest in Golf)
Kapur the only Indian to make the cut this week had one birdie on fifth and bogeys on third, 15th and 18th.
"The conditions were not easy out there with the wind. Par would have been a good score. I thought I could get a birdie on 16th and maybe get out with a par and a decent finish, but bogeys on 15th and 18th didn't allow that," said Kapur. "Now after about 11 weeks on the road since the BMW PGA, I am headed home and will be back for Omega European Masters sanctioned by European and Asian Tours. But I am looking forward to a small break."
Earlier in the week, Anirban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha Singh missed the cut.
Kapur pushed hard but things did not go his way and he also missed on a couple of putts in conditions that were sunny but there was also wind.
Nearer the top, Marc Warren (64) was the clubhouse leader at 10-under, but Raphael Jacquelin (even par after 10 holes) led the field at 11-under in what was likely to be a tight finish.
Overnight leader, Daniel Brooks, Matt Kuchar and Rickie Fowler were also at 10-under, but still had some holes to play.
