Jordan Spieth vs Rory McIlroy: Golf's Newest Rivalry

Talented, charming, humble- that's the 2015 US Open Champion Jordan Spieth for you. The 21-year old won his second major of the year on Sunday after winning the Augusta Masters in April - and broke many records in doing so.

Speaking about his credentials, Spieth said, "Somebody seems to find a history lesson on why I was the youngest to do something or as young as somebody way back when. For me, this is my life. I've now been doing it for a while. I don't really think of my age."

The 21-year old Texan may not be thinking of his age but it's certainly something you cannot ignore. His credentials are not only impressive on the greens but off it as well. Spieth is involved in a lot of charity work that's focused on children with special needs, military families and junior golf.

* Spieth is only the sixth golfer ever to win the Augusta Masters and US Open in the same year

A super run both on and off the greens means comparisons are natural and the most obvious comparison would be 26-year old Rory McIlroy. World No.2 Spieth is just 2 major titles short of the World No.1 but he has enough time to play catch up with the 26-year old.

Spieth though has played down the rivalry and is instead focus his energies on the World's top spot, "I don't think much of a rivalry. Rory has four majors and dozens of wins and I'm just starting out. Again, I'm certainly quite a bit younger than he is. I'm just happy to have this and to be chasing that No. 1 spot which he holds. So I'm certainly focused on that."

So after Tiger & Mickelson, will it be Rory vs Spieth? Well, it certainly seems like a rivalry that world golf has been waiting for.
