Reno, USA:
The Orlando-based Indian, who has missed the cut in five previous events as well, bowed out with a total of 151 at the USD three million event.
In what turned out to be a topsy-turvy day for him, Atwal opened rather well with a birdie on the first hole.
But it went all downhill thereafter as he dropped three strokes in the space of five holes, with a birdie sandwiched in between, to make the turn one-over.
If the front nine was mixed, the back-nine was disappointing for Atwal.
After making pars until the 13h hole, he stumbled to back-to-back bogeys on the 14th and 15th.
A double bogey on the 16th followed and even though Atwal managed a birdie on the 18th, it was too little too late.
India-born Swede Daniel Chopra was tied 36th with a total of two-under 142 after returning a 70.
At the top, American John Rollins jumped into sole lead with a sensational 10-under 62 that took his total to 12-under 132.
