Russian 11th seed Vera Zvonareva withdrew from the French Open on Monday after suffering from a right shoulder injury.

Kazakhstan's Sesil Karatantcheva, a 'lucky loser' from qualifying, will take her place in the draw and will face Hungary's Timea Babos in the first round.
